My baby turned 5 yesterday! She is getting so big! Our fun started Wednesday night as she picked out her cake above and cupcakes to take to school. We had to have special pink High School Musical ones for her school friends, she was very picky! Then she chose the cute butterfly cake in the picture for us to eat at home on her birthday.

She and Luke had so much fun guessing what could be in the box for her present. The one thing they finally decided was in it was a trampoline for her dolls. She was excited to open it and find a huge set of Barbie furniture. We played with it for hours tonight.
When she got up this morning she was very excited, even though it wan't her birthday anymore. She was ready for what she called "Girl's Day"! Mom and Chele joined us. No boys allowed! Except for Alex, she let him come along because he was a baby and that was okay. The first thing we did was get her ears pierced.

She picked out really cute little pink crystal flowers. She wanted "jewels" for her earrings. She was amazing! Two ladies pierced them for her at the same time. She didn't even cry! We were shocked.
The next thing we did was shop, of course! We picked out some new clips, barrettes and headbands because she was going to get her haircut. Then she got to pick out 3 new outfits, and our course a couple of new High School Musical shirts. The girls loves her High School Musical!
Then we took Luke some lunch at school and went to meet Chele and Alex at Pastafina, her favorite restaurant. We had a great lunch and then headed off to the salon.
This is a picture of her hair before the cut...

It was really long. Then Brittany measured out 10 inches and went in for the big cut!
She was so good. We weren't sure what to expect since this was the first time for her to get her haircut at a salon. She sat really still and was a real trooper. I'll admit I actually cried when Brittany was cutting. My little girls is growing up!She is donating her hair to Locks of Love. She told me she wants another little girl who doesn't have any hair to use her hair now.
Putting the finishing touches on her new haircut. Below is her reaction the first time she saw her hair. I don't think she was sure how to react. Everyone was telling her how cute she was and she went into major shy mode.
A "Girl's Day" isn't complete without a manicure! Shelia couldn't believe how still she sat. She is really patient when it comes to getting her nails done.
She chose pink polish with white polka dots. Very girly!
And one last shot of her fabulous haircut. It's so short and it makes her look older. Daddy's not sure what to think still.
After the haircut and manicure, we did some more shopping. She picked out some new dresses for church and spent a little birthday money on a new bag and a set of lipgloss. Then we went for ice cream, picked up Luke and went to visit Mema.
All in all it was a fabulous day and we are all exhausted. I think she will remember this day for a long time, if not forever. Mom and Chele and I have decided to make this "Girl's Day" an annual event!
Happy Birthday Emi!
